One of the other games had like a mansion with locked gates, and some underground part where you could build a raft or something...?

Yeah that sounds like the one. One of the only puzzles i remember is being in a garage of some sort with a talking yellow (?) car, and the puzzle revolved around guessing the right chain length to aquire that part.

Here's one:

- SNES
- Graphics are similar to that of 'Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past'
- Based on fantasy/medieval themes
- Protagonist is a warrior with the sprite (avatar) being that similar to 'A Link to the Past's graphics
- Plot is based on a relic or artifact or something was shattered into about 7 pieces. Playing the protagonist, you had to travel to 7 parallel worlds to retrieve said pieces

Unfortunately I didn't get far into the game so I don't recall the rest.

What was also triggering my memory of it as in that video, which depicts the time in game that you meet up with the 'Elder' at the start, the background music sounds rather similar to Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven". It also turns out I was WAY off on the plot :\

Something from my childhood (late 80's, early 90's) that I have almost completely forgotten. It was a multiplayer tabletop arcade machine, but it had a glass/plastic dome over the top of it, and instead of a flat screen I think it had some sort of parabolic mirror, which gave the impression that it was in 3D. I think it was a fighting game and there may have been some obstacles to hide from your oponent. I think it was made by Sega.

Another better shot of the cabinet:
http://system16.com/hardware.php?id=709&gid=1961#1961

One of the guys on AussieArcade did a full restore of one of these. He bought it off eBay from memory, and it was in bad shape. The black dome was all cracked and scratched, and everything was in nasty condition. He did a great job of fixing it up.

Sadly I can't find it through their forum search. If I find the article, I'll PM you.

Default looking for name of old game

looking for a game we used to play at school, was maybe 1994. the PCs were older though; looking at pictures some of the acorn computers and commodore 64 looks familiar.

i thought it was called ogres lair but i can't find any references to a game of this name. it was top down view and you could throw a axe which looked like a chicken drumstick. it also had 2 player mode on the same PC, graphics were maybe CGA level. i dont know if it was on the same platform but i found another game we played around the same time called lady bug.

It was originally a 4-player arcade game:

Definitely give it a crack on MAME and 4 USB gamepads if you have the time. Brilliant fun with 4 players.

Believe it or not your "chicken drumstick" comment made me think of that game. I always thought the same thing about the axe sprite!

OK. I will do my best to explain this one. From what I remember it came out in 1995 - 96 I think. Basically it was a dual seater racing game like the Daytona and Sega Rally ones. It had the feel of a Outrun / Radracer / Lotus type game. I think.... it was made by SNK/Neo Geo or even Konami. You had the choice of different drivers and there was two people to a car. (driver/passenger) Some of the cars in the game were your typical ferrari style, as well as a 4wd one. I remember that the 4wd one would end up on two wheels when turning a sharp corner.

I remember that I absolutely adored this game, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. PLEASE! If anybody remembers.
