You would fire it and the chain and weapon would fling out and return.

You could also hit walls for secret area where you could grab armour etc?

Any ideas???
Black Tiger? It was also known as Black Dragon.

Ditto. They had it at the donut shop where I grew up and I used to pump money into that thing. I still love to fire it up in MAME every now and then.

Arcade game I'm trying to recall.

Helicopter "sim". I recall the chopper was based on the AH-1 Cobra.

You sat on a platform, which had a pilot-esque seat and a cyclic control in the centre and a collective to your left.

Gameplay consisted of "overhead", shmup-style game play, before transitioning to over-the-shoulder style, 3D-esque control, similiar to Starfox.

Graphics were sprite based. I remember playing this in the early nineties in my local Bingara milk bar, so the game probably pre-dates that time.

I've got to throw this up, I've been unsuccessfully searching for 15 years for this game.

Space fighter in that you were flying a ship on another world, but instead of top down or side scroller, you flew towards the horizon. Stand up cabinet, played it heaps at a little caravan park in Foster back in the late 80's/early
90's.

And then a spaceship appears with a Centauri who wisks you away to a far away planet called Rylos?

Did anyone else think of this movie when they read this description?

Loved that movie! Carry on....

Last Starfighter was my favorite movie as a kid, along with Flight of the Navigator.

I can't believe it, that's the one Elvis.

I always thought it started with a G, but browsing Mame libraries I never did come across Galaxy Force.

That brought back a lot of great memories of the 90's, thanks so much !
