For people sending off DXF designs for laser cutting, drafting your sketch isn't necessary. Just send a DXF of the model with a couple of dimensions on it so the operator can check that it's scaled/cut to size properly:
This ^^^^

The above would make my life much, much easier.

Feel free to make a start drawing stuff

I don't know what the pic limit is per post, so don't be surprised if at some point posts have to be deleted for me to get a couple more posts added to the beginning of the thread.

Hi, thanks for the tutorial bastard.

I'll definitely give this a go tonight, and I know what you mean about settings not being enabled when they should be, for my DXF stuff I was using ProgeCAD and I spent alot of time turning everything on as I didnt know where it was (newbie), snap to edges ect. were all turned off so as it was it was useless.

If you'd like me to add some posts at the beginning of the thread for you to keep all your work together let me know and I will.

Edit: I've just moved one of your posts up and given you 3 place holder posts. If you want more let me know.

Holy crap Ma Baker, that is brilliant!

People better start asking questions, or I'm going to assume no-one's making use of this thread and I'll stop adding to it

Mate, its heaps handy keep it up I'm making use if it, and it should be easy to find too, thats why I asked an admin to make it a sticky.

don't worry, I have many many (noob) questions to ask, but between your guide and the linked pdf, I'm trying to nut out some of the basic things myself first

I've added some advanced stuff just before the drafting post, and I'll add a bit more about the smart dimension tool and dimensioning drawings in general.

And that'll probably be it until people start asking questions :<

Without the swearing, you may as well be reading just any old book

Makes it much more relateable IMO.
