Yeh aside from the 400+ ping the first one was fun. Be great if they can replicate it again

It's SOE.

They won't have servers down here. If we want to play it, we'll be playing with 400+ ping and get raped unless you're part of a zerg invasion.

Meh, I still used to pwn.

Stealth, hack the stealthed deployment vehicle, jump into vehicle, run people over moving to a new loc, deploy and giggle.

You were better off in PS1 with being laggy, as everything was done client side as opposed to server side.

Some new alpha footage.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

Bonus Footage:

Starting to look quite good. They seem to be staying pretty true to the original. Hopefully that means they're staying true to the earlier versions of the original (i.e. minus BFRs). Also... night battles look fantastic.

Can't wait, very very hyped for this, it will reaplace Battlefield 2142 for me. I even got a beta key, took some effort but was worth it. Now I'm all ready.

Really? I remember playing ps1 beta, and while I loved the game, it was almost unplayable with the latency

Was easily playable, thanks to client side hit prediction and a bunch of other clever netcode tweaks.

I agree with this - add in the big hit box for detection of hits, things played pretty well even with 200ms ping.

They are handing out Beta keys on twitter with a trivia question each hour.
Just scored myself keys!

Now just need the beta to actually start.
