If you like wine and craft beer, we have lots of both. Gin too. Did I mention wine?

Unfortunately, OP doesn't. Wipes out the attraction of all of the wineries. (although I still like going to them, even though I don't really drink, they are usually nice scenery)

I personally hate wine but I've had a pretty good time going on a wine tour and checking out the wineries around Adelaide and learning more about the history of wine in SA

Yes, I'd still enjoy such a tour. A lot of the wineries have nice restaurants, so you can "do lunch" in good scenery.

Thanks all ... looks like at the moment we will probably hit Qld (as we have 7 days timeshare to use up there), and head up to Noosa again whilst there, then travel back via old highways on way back and hit up the old coastal holiday towns, as well as Bellingen and Dorrigo, Ballina and Byron.

But we'll probably end up kenneling pooch as a result.

hahah yeah well we'd need to kennel her for a week in Qld.

The idea behind Adelaide was that we were going to visit family in Griffth and take pooch, but plans have changed a little now.

Use heating in accommodation then : ) And rug up when you are outside.

What are your interests? Depends on what you want to do as of what would be of great interest to you and fam.

Changed the plans slightly. Since we are heading up to Qld anyway, decided we will focus more around Dorrigo/Bellingen/Ebor, and Springbrook/LamingtonNP, etc.

We enjoy bushwalking quite a bit, and it appears despite exhaustive searches that there really is nothing at Byron/Ballina worth looking at.

Well for the sake of anyone else reading this post we do have an awesome open range Zoo at Monarto. The Zoo in the CBD is now pretty ordinary as when animals die they arent being replaced ( The 2 pandas are still at the ADelaide zoo but can be elusive.

Monarto has open range Wild african hunting dog/ massive Girraffe paddock, Massive Chimp enclosure, Big Lion paddock area. You travel around in buses which stop off at various locations where you can go to viewing platforms etc.

Wineries ( some of the best in Australia ) with Mclaren vale really close, Barossa bit further and Clare even further out still. Very scenic areas even if you dont drink wine.

Rugged coastlines down near second valley, Cape jervis, Deep Creek conservation park.

Murray Mouth, Driving on sand if you have a 4WD, Middleton, Goolwa beaches and a few other more metro beaches you can take cars on such as Aldinga.

Feb and March definitely the time to be in Adelaide for entertainment - Just way to much to even fathom.

I'm not a fan of Gin, but apparently KI Spirits do quiet a tasty one.

https://www.kispirits.com.au/

KI is a fair way out of Adelaide, and the ferry costs as much as the one to Tasmania... so I'd got to Tassie instead.
