The PM45 chipset in my laptop supports 8GB of RAM (which is 2 x 4GB of expensive memory) according to everest. He most likely doesn't play games, as I also have an awful ATI HD 3450 and it turns anyone off playing newish games on it.

OP: check your laptop manual or something for memory support to be sure if you want, but it sounds like a modern laptop and 4GB shouldn't be an issue at all

it actually supports way more than 8GB for example you can kit a Dell Precision with 16GB+

Well i do play games and it is a fairly newish laptop. I bought it last November.
