I dont know why people complain about ATI drivers they have the same number of problems as Nvidia do. Some people have heaps of problems on ATI some don't, same with Nvidia, half of it is installing drivers that are immature and complaining of problems, or that with new games the aren't optimised yet which is hardly ATI or Nvidia's fault.
Itsmydamnation your right about the price, even if Fermi was here though ATI would probably stick at the current price anyway, they have a chronic supply shortage at the current price, and Fermi won't be competing at its price level, either way Fermi or no Fermi 58xx cards would sell the minute they hit the floor. |

NV have just dropped the ball there is no other way to put it, AMD+ATI have picked up their game and have assessed the market right and have won. If NV want to have any chance of regaining market share aka $$$ they will need to pull their thumb out and get some competative cards out. Its not just about ATI having many better value for money cards its that NV is just falling behind by leaps and bounds in reverse and it is getting to the point that people can't justify buying NV as they simply don't meet the bar.
I do really hope they get it right and actually kick it up a notch, I remember hearing stuff about them apparently pulling out of the high end video card market which would be the dumbest thing they could do if they do it, its pushing the performance cards and higher technology that generally leads to improvements in the lower down the chain this applies to almost every field and every technology. Where there is a market there is a business, why the hell would you pull out of a market worth so much money and leave it 90% to your competition. |

The prices I posted where launch prices. It just shows that ATI is more about value and Nvidia more about profit...

I picked up a GTX260 at release (Asus) for $330. This was a lonnngg time ago! Of course the ATI stuff is going to come out cheaper when it's more than a year later than the Nvidia stuff. And i'm talking about my distributors stock. Both of mine don't have any.
