A CNC router that I could use to build arcade cabinets with. Or a larger laser since my current laser is too small and too low power and generally too inflexible for some of the things I want to do.

A CNC engraving machine would be good for doing tags that the laser can't do too.

I have a lathe, mill, 3d printer and CNC router and if I had any spare time, I'd use them.

If I had a mill I'd make my own timber boards for building all sorts of stuff. I've cut a heap of trees down that are just kinda sitting there looking sad.

Actaully, I've also considered getting a woodchipper and making a biomass heater with all the wood.

I usually do this the other way around though, like: "I need to build a picture frame so I'll go buy a mitre box/saw etc. Much better way for getting purchase approval from the wifey.

If I had a 3d printer I'd make another 3d printer with it.

I remember wanting that...

I've had my lathe now for 6 years and never made any of them

I have a 5 car garage, a mill and a lathe (both manual), mig/Tig welder, and zero time.

If I had a CNC router I would:
  • Start building prototypes for 35mm, 120, and glass plate film holder designs for current scanner project
  • Start cutting and engraving case and enclosure for aforementioned project
  • Re-cut parts for anti-dust system prototype instead of 3D printing them for the scanner project
  • Start producing parts for another wet mounting station project to assemble and sell
  • Re-design and make larger vertical slot processor based on previous smaller design and prototype several years in the making
  • Cut all different sized panels for my modular contact printing frame project
  • Lots and lots more..

So anybody bloody got one!?
