You need a monitor that can do 15khz horizontal sync RGB. If you're lucky you might find a modern one that does it.
Otherwise there are scandoublers that will convert the signal to VGA spec.

you will also need a 23 pin to VGA adapter. the commodore ones are passive and dont convert the signal.

SCART RGB will work if you have such a monitor, Aldi was selling some a couple of years ago.

you can also get S-VHS adapters that are a pretty good compromise if your monitor has that input.

Finally you can fork out $$$ and get an indivision ECS which will give you DVI output and some other features.

IMHO the best experience is from a Commodore CRT monitor. the pixels are perfect and square, scrolling is beautiful and smooth... but these can be hard to find in good order.

Awsome,

Looking fwd to the arrival of mine too 8-)

Should be soon now. 8-)

What are you doing for a HDD?

Do you have normal spinning rust hooked up to the 44pin header on the Vampire, or have you obtained a CF card adapter from somwhere?

Would luve to see some photo's when you get a chance 8-)

I will probably initally install mine into one of the 500's, but What I really want to do is install it into a Vanilla A1000.

8-)

seems a bit expensive to me but I guess thats eBay for you.

Theres some sound blaster manuals in that lot which are nothing to do with Amiga so odds are the seller doesn't know what they have.

I'd be thinking about $100 - $150 for a500 with power supply and monitor in working order.

Bit Pricey!

I'd be looking for ~ $200 for a setup like that.

If it was a 500+ or a 1200 maybe closer to $400, not not a stock 500.

You'd be better off at this stage getting hold of Amiga Forever, and seeing if you really want to spend the cash on the HW. Try the emulated environment first. 8-)

Installed FlowerPot for MAC by AmiKit onto my macbook pro today, gotta say very nice little AmigaOS4.1 FE Classic Environment.

Confused me for a while with the AmiUpdates not working, because aminet.net was dead in the background. But once they got it back up again I managed to get a fully updated Classic version of 4.1 flying along under MacOS (it uses Wine).

Only 1 bug found so far!

And its not with the FlowerPot stuff its an incompat with the gfx drivers and RunInUAE.

Now to try some Apps.

Looks like the Apollo team will have the first version of Super AGA implementation ready soon for their Vampire accelerators:

I know you all are waiting for the next GOLD3 release.
The Apollo team is working on some new stuff for it.
We are right now testing AMIGA chipset features of SAGA

This means we run Workbench in PAL over HDMI.
We paint with DPAINT on PAL output to HDMI.
We play AMIGA Games and run some Cracktros.
We test Copperbardemos, we run games using EHB and HAM modes.

We are also working on faster and better SAGA drivers for RTG.
The new driver will improve RTG speed.
While the RTG on the Vampire is already quite swift
some function will be speed up significantly.

As you can imagine all this testing and development need a lot of time.

The HDMI PAL modes is an option the user can choose to use or not.
The SAGA HDMI PAL modes have some advantages.
a) They are 50Hz and in fully Sync!
This means no lack, no tearing!

The picture is much better than using SCART and TV.
The picture is also better compared with "other" solutions.

To get your expectations right, testing and tweaking perfectly will take us a lot of time. So this will be an evolution over the next release GOLD3/4/5
We will release GOLD3 when we think its good enough.
And over the next halve year we will work on tweaking and improving it.

Cheers
Gunnar
