Default 3rd Party Software for BitFenix Recon

Subject says it all, really.

Linux, OS X, Windows

V1.0.0-Beta of Phoebetria has been released on sourceforge.

Bugs can be reported at: https://sourceforge.net/p/phoebetria/tickets/

Currently, packages for OSX, Windows and Fedora-17(64) can be downloaded (as well as the source code of course).

All of the functions (except for net/web client/access) are implemented.

If anyone uses Linux distros other than F17(64-bit) and would like to make a package, please PM me.

Cheers

Developers:

For those able to compile C++ Qt applications, it may be worth checking out the "RewritingFanController" branch from the Git repository on sourceforge. Basically it's been rewritten almost from scratch (the code is much cleaner now). In addition to the code being cleaner, it's also faster. The GUI is also probably more responsive. Please note, though, that this branch has had almost no testing (it's been tested on one machine [mine] and one OS only). If you do give it a go feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Edit: There's actually a reason (not an excuse) for why the old FanController class was such a mess. It was actually written with debugging in mind (displaying messages associated with the bytes to/from the Recon) and I was lazy and it ended up being deployed -- it should have been rewritten from as soon as I understood the protocol. Oh well.

Edit2: The RewritingFanController is now merged into master.

Because the code has changed so much I've uploaded a Windows binary that reflects the current code as it was this morning.

Behind the scenes the code has vastly changed. It's cleaner and more efficient. From the end-user perspective, not much has probably changed (the GUI is more responsive, layout adjustments for different window managers/platforms is done, and there is now minimise to tray).

This is *not* a release, it's just so that if anyone submits a bug report that we're on the same page...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/phoe...0.zip/download

Since I compiled the binary, the following bug has been fixed: slider tooltips with min/max rpm/temperature were not updating.

There is a problem that can be identified using valgrind. The bug causes the app to occasionally crash when starting. I think it's a race condition and am looking into it.

Cheers

Version 1.1.1 (Beta) is released!

https://sourceforge.net/projects/phoebetria/

Although this is a "point release" many changes and improvements have
been incorporated. Behind the scenes the code is more efficient. These
efficiency gains mean that, from a user perspective, the GUI is more
responsive and many bugs have been fixed. The GUI has been polished and
now the controls and window properly resize themselves depending on user
settings and the user environment. Additionally, when setting a manual
RPM using the RPM sliders, the sliders now 'lock' to the user-defined
RPM; if the reported RPM is not equivalent to the manual RPM an
indicator below the slider changes to yellow. Minimise to tray has been
implemented and user profiles have been improved.

This release is also a milestone. From this point onward we will be
adding features to Phoebetria that the OEM software does not provide.
