That's what I'm here for. Guidance for all you bleary-eyed kids stumbling into the world of sound cards for the first.

Yeah. I actually want to go back to the original OP-Amps and just listen to them with my new HD600's; just to see how they are and get use to them again so I can properly compare all the new OP-Amps I've just got.

I can't say how much I love these new Headphones! All these new sounds are showing up. Problem is, now I can tell the difference between crappy recordings / mixings, and good high quality mixing. The sound stage has really come out, and now It's as if you can tell when the mixer didn't know what they were doing when they laid the tracks down. There's just no separation in some of the music I'm listening to, whilst in other tracks the separation is fantastic... (separation between instruments that is).

Between the OP-Amps and my new cans, I must have months of testing in front of me. I almost can't be bothered. I almost just want to listen to my music now.

Oh god, just my luck. Tried swapping OPamps on my Titanium HD and it resulted in my card blowing up.

Jesus, Suopermanni. Er, forgive me, but you didn't put them in backwards, did you?

Luckily, I checked before hand and put them the same way as the OPamps before it. When I put the card into the computer, it made static noises and smelt burnt.

Shit. That's not a good sign!

Swapped out the Op-Amps on my STX with the ones in the OP today and was quite impressed with the difference - still the same old STX, but probably better then stock in every aspect.

Was planning to buy a serious external DAC, but I think I might play swapsies for a little while to see what this thing can do

Yeah they really sort of whip everything about the STX into shape.

One odd thing I have noticed, though. In BF3, and BF3 alone, foot step sounds when you are in the kill cam or spawn menu seem to judder or constantly stop and start, they also sound muffled. Not sure if I've not got one of the amps seated funny or what, though...

For something so specific, that's not going to be opamp related. More likely its BF3 related.

Probably, but I'll give it a crack tonight and see if I get anything similar... I should really start finishing off some of those new assignments anyway.
