i saw one of these last week (red one) and was not very impressed with them to be honest.

i got better value from my 13" toshiba T130 for $399, but i personally wouldnt pay those prices for that one you bought, but thats just me, wasnt worth it in my opinion.

but thx for sharing, others might like them.

BTW, how many of their stores are closing, are they just not trading very well, or is it more like a relocation of stores in some areas.

Your opinion is fair enough. I happen to think its a pretty good deal though. And there was already a fair bit of action around a few forums on these laptops for a light gaming laptop in the under $600 price range.

I honestly think the badge price of $598 isnt the best value. However i was letting people know at Dick Smith stores that are closing down it was $508, but now down to $478 Which makes it good value. I spent $22 to throw in another 4gb stick of ram. And ill prolly put an SSD in there in the next month or so.

Its quite a beast little machine for the money. I can even play Battlefield 3 on lower-med settings

yeah i guess its not a bad deal for the lower price they sold them at, and if your happy with it then thats all that matters i guess (i just didnt like the feel of it, or the build quality that much)

i just mentioned i preferred my T130 (its older) because it represented better value to me for my purposes, and for battery life.

and yes, that one you bought would def be more suited to someone interested in a bit of gaming here and there, not a bad graphics chip in it for the price.

cheers
