I'm guessing it's resellers who get the pre-order so they have stock ready for launch?

Fair enough, not long to go anyway .... can we get a results thread going like the Kaby one? To discuss and compare overclocks and scores?

You've got to be joking . Pick a new tech product at release, convert USD MSRP to AUD, add 10% GST and you're still far off the price we pay retail.

Why do you think so many people order from Amazon or Newegg? Even after international shipping it's significantly cheaper.

You seem to not understand the fundamentals of how retail trade works and the costs involved with various compliance of local and federal laws, plus a whole range of other dynamics involved (but this is not the thread for it). If you think there is some conspiracy by retailers, vendors and distributors all over Australia to rip the public off, feel free to start you own retail IT store and see how it works and how long you last.

don't know don't care
thanks
i, m all over that 1800x even adding some on and say 300 for a board i, m golden

ya know that would make the 1600x a sub 400 product you know plus plus and that beats a 7700k in multi threaded apps(c15 by a huge margin even with the 7700k oc to what 5.4 gig)... which puts it below the 7700k in price....roughly.

so to those holding on to the old days good on you i still have a few older compute and they still motor on...hell my daughters fx6300 with a 7850 is sitting there playing ark survival watching youtube and chatting on 2 screens...so yeah

Thought this was actually interesting, I must have screwed something up...

i7 7700K

NewEgg: US$349.99 = AU$454.88 + 10% GST = AU$500.38 (LINK)

PCCG: AU$485 (LINK)

What have I got wrong here..... it's US$345.67 on Amazon as well.

Now that product is almost three months old. See if you can find a price from release on Amazon vs PCCG.

Edit: The GTX10x0 series was the best example. Save a few hundred buying the same thing from the US rather than locally.

can we pls staph the "australia tax" stuff - ive had enough since the 10 series thread and this is for amd cpus which havent even had the nda lifted yet #pricegate has started up again

$699 for the top of the line 8 core is excellent pricing and hoping AMD didnt skimp on the TIM for srs overclocks as most intel 8 core taper off after 4.4ghz

That 10%GST doesnt come into effect until July 1 2017 as far as the ATOs site says.

As long as AMD can try to help reel back intels god damn pricing, all is well..
My 4790K was $384 in 2014... Why the fuck were they $495 till recently.. and why did the 7700K cost $500+ at launch?

No competition, that's why!!

Of course, if Ryzen is good, they could just bump the prices up so we're all screwed either way

And people can't deny the fuck you Australia tax, has existed since I first used a computer.. But to complain about it is a bit silly, it will always exist.

I wonder how many Intel 6900k's will be sold for $1000US once AMD Ryzen 1800X for $500US comes out.. my guess is not many!

I was just spectating on the missing text from the picture, and that they're still going to enable profit for the disties and the retailers in that equation.
