Pretty sure my board doesn't have a disable option.

What I was trying to say was a bypass, after some checking Corsair Link hasn't got a bypass for it like NZXT Cam does.

speaking of Baymax if you have one i suggest grabbing the 9920 beta bios....very nice.

Of course, nothing's guaranteed with overclocking. Should have used better wording.

large majority of 1800x will do 4Ghz though (all core) , by virtue of the fact they already do it out of the box on 1-2 thread Turbo. and 4.1 in bursts during XFR. This means each core has to be at least capable of stabilty at this frequency, @ a given Vcore, and temperature.

It's not that simple though, since under all-core, full throughput SMT load, you have a lot more power and heat to be dissipated from all 8 cores, so what may be a safe Vcore for 1 to 2 core turbo scenario (as high as ~1.5v) may not be for all-core load where core temp can get quite high, leading to localized hotspots.

Lucky, I just checked my BIOS and didn't see shit about it so I guess MSI hasn't bothered.

Guess I'll have to screw around with fan profiles now to get this thing running quiet .

Edit, messed with the fan curve so now it's running silent, didn't even ramp up over 40% while running OCCT then again it didn't go over 50 so that's good, till summer comes .

What volts should I be looking at for this 1800X, it's currently hitting 1.55v on stock which is a tad high for my tastes.
