No, I am waiting for the new PC case to turn up so that I can then get the RADs + fans etc before I start pushing the CPU.

I try and use hardware until they fail

Had 4 total MB failures:
- A pair of Epox MBs (good old days) fail completely due to caps
- 1 gigabyte board die (24/7 FTP fileserver use for roughly 10 years)
- 1 gigabyte board die because my watercooling loop leaked and shorted the thing out. It kept working with some faulty ram slots for another 3 years until it failed all together.
Ah the memories - I still have an Epox board at my parents place, that thing was more trouble than it was worth.

Rocking Haswell from 2013 I think. i5-4670K, running at 4.4GHz.

Took the opportunity to move to a 500GB SSD when W10 was released as a free upgrade (did the ol' fresh install trick), chucked in another 8GB RAM to bring it to 16GB as well.

Currently on a GTX970, will look to upgrade the GPU in the next cycle. Other than that the rig is rocking along nicely.

Cool

Still rocking an Ivy Bridge (i5-3470) and a B75-based mobo thta I assembled back in 2013. I upgraded this setup to an i7-3770 that was selling for like US$100 just about 6 months ago

Aside from that I've only upgraded the video card thrice..going from a 7700 to a 7950 and a side grade to a 660 Ti due to the 7950 dying. :|

Looks like this Intel setup gonna lost me a while longer.

My second rig by the way is in pieces and has been parted out to family.

I wonder though if anyone is planning to upgrade video cards right now. With the mining craze and all some of my friends have advised me not to buy any new video card right now since all of them have jacked up prices.

1060 3 or 6gb at this point in time for me. same price bracket as 7950 (originally), but i havent bought anything yet....
+80-90% performance.
R9 390x would be excellent bang for buck if you can find one.
but i guess the 7950 was pretty cheap.

Video cards are slowly dropping. Eth mining is nearly dead.

The 1060 got to 400 but some are under 300 now.

MrChilled: get a k chip. Most do nearly 5ghz - much more than 10%.
