Yep its very good, I baught it. And is 100% stable with eboostr and supercache 5...it adds to the load time/shutdown windows times of the ram drive, (n shutting down), I have a 8g ram drive but I load n save it to he sdd(raid ), n I can only see a 3 sec delay in load, n save, but a minute, if loaded, save from a fast hdd.

$ mkdir /dev/shm/build && ln -s /dev/shm/build build
<- instant ramdrive for my builds. No need to bother with backups or reloads because if it gets nuked its no big deal.

That, and my OS/home sitting on a SSD which i rsynced every hour to a spindle disk means super fast laptop

Meh, I really couldn't care less about that extra while on the Windows startup logo. My server board takes like 2-3 minutes just to post, another minute or two to get through post.. Adding a little bit more doesn't really make much of a difference.

Meh. I've yet to see one thing that linux does, or does better than Windows that appeals to me. I mean there used to be the argument that it was more stable, now I've over the years used quite a few linux distros and well none of them are as stable as Windows 7/Server 2008 for a desktop environment. Maybe they are for your databases or whatever it is that you code but as an all-encompassing jack of all trades, NOTHING beats a Windows box. Period. Maybe with more market share, thus more programmers, thus more support then Linux could be something, but its a catch 22. But if you can tell me something that my Windows box can't do that Linux can that serves some purpose for me by all means let me know. All I know is that I don't dual-boot, that's cas I don't have any possible reason to. Do you dual-boot or emulate Windows?
