Default [Build] Sienci Mill

So I just ordered parts for this open source mill after seeing Tom's Live Stream build of it on YouTube (which is currently missing from youtube at the moment, will post link when it is up again)

Here is the link to the Instructables page for the build: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-...e-Desktop-CNC/

I am sure I will modify it slightly on the way such as the build area, using thicker MDF and metric angle...but the basics are all there and should be quite affordable compared to using V-slot and still prove "accurate enough" until I fork out for a real Mill down the track

Currently awaiting arrival:

- 3x 500mm Anti-Backlash lead screws
- 3x 5-8mm solid couplers
- 20x 5mm V-wheels

And already have waiting:

- Arduino CNC shield & drivers
- 3x NEMA-17 Steppers
- an ER11 collet and shaft setup and hobby 1450KV brushless motor with 30A ESC to start with then will upgrade to a Makita or similar trim router when all working...

now I just need to source the Angie and MDF and then can modify/re-design the printed parts off the thingiverse page for the Sienci to suit metric...

Where did you source the eccentric nuts from? My MPCNC build is stalled out because i haven't found the time to go get the steel pipe yet, but i have been keeping an eye on the MillOne in the meantime.

Cool project, subbed to see how it goes.

I'd love to build one, but if I'm being honest with myself it would really be like trying to walk before crawling.

I should probably learn how to use a lathe first.

Hell, buying a drill press would be a good enough start.
