The difference between the two is exagerated by reviews that focus on such a very very narrow difference.

At the end of the day you get a very capable CPU for mid range money. Which is better depends on your workload. But from what I can see a 8350 is often ahead of the 3750. The 3770 is a different matter are the 3770 is much more capable, but its in a different price bracket.

Watched that vid at lunch time. This thing really is fast. More and more I'm playing with it though I realise I really screwed up when I brought this board. Need and asus or MSI to make them work properly, voltages are all over the place with mine.

Also I got the Linpack Intel burn test and I'm passing that but one or 2 workers of prime 95 just stops, but dosn't turn red. Can prime get like corrupted or anything?

The only real world instability I am having is about 10% of the time windows will BSOD with a stop error on start up. Once it loads its perfectly fine in benches games etc.

From what ive seen, Asrock in general are very poor OC boards.

If your failing workers, it means that your cpu still isnt stable, but you are close, up the volts a little more and it should be right.

Running just under stock volts at stock speeds and hitting over 65C.. Its usually failing around those temps. I got a massive Noctura so this wouldn't happen. But days have been over 40C for a few weeks in a row now.

I took someones advice and cleaned the HSF and chip with metho when I transferred my system to the P280. I think the temps are higher now but like I said its been really hot here for weeks. I will take it apart and clean it with contact cleaner this arvo and try again.

There is no way I should be ideling at 45C when the temp in here couldn't be over 35 and I doubt its that high.

My motherboard temp is also reading 50-60C once the cpu gets over 60C in prime. Just ran it again, as soon as I hit 65C worker 2 stopped. Can I like send my board back and get a refund? Because these are stock speeds I'm running here. No OC.

If you got a 40 degree ambient, I would say thats your problem (over heating).

those are your problems. P280 isnt the greatest for airflow. have you mounted any extra fans into it?

I filled it with fans, all the spaces are full . I don't think its 40C ambient in here. Its 40+ outside. Thank fuk I didn't use the stock cooler probably would have blown up.

I have the side of the case off after remounting, and its priming stable with at 1.40v 4Ghz. Sitting at 60C. EDIT, after 10mins it stopped one worker.

Question: Its impossible to mount the Noctura straight on. Like place it down and screw it on with out it moving. Is that bad?

Also the heat pipes under prime95 when sitting at 60C arnt even hot to touch. I think thats a bit weird.
