Well if it is getting similar performance for 1/2 power draw, then performance per watt has doubled... but like most here, who cares how much power it draws? I just want performance..

I find those numbers hard to believe, such a small increase seems unlikely.

Well realistically it should be compared againstr the 980GTX not the 980Ti which was just a rebadged Titan.

It isn't a small increase. 980ti was a good chunk stronger than the 980. This will be reference results at possibly stock boost. A strong 980 in 3dMark scores 20 to 21k gpu score. My 980 classy running 1605/8200mhz scores 23k. Would hate to know the power draw put it is at about 130% tdp to get that.

Assassin creed games on max settings (30" dell IPS resolution) were unplayable on my 980, and 90% of the game is smooth on my TI.

It's a worthwhile upgrade if you can get one at a decent price.
