Yes, it is. There's potential for hypothermia.

We can't keep our girl out the water, even in winter.

When she goes the the beach, we give her a rinse with warm water (ie - buckets in the back yard)

Then give her a chamoise (sp?) made for dogs, which gets heaps of water out, then a towel. In a few hrs we will give another towel and a brush.

I personally wouldn't leave her wet, as I wouldn't have thought that it would be good for their skin.

Neeco finally got rollover down, not bad considering he's 3yrs old >_>
The treats are just plain dog food but he likes being handfed.

Okay here's another problem I've been having.

I've been trying to teach the dog to roll over for a while now. I'm 98% sure he knows exactly what to do.

Everytime I guide him with my hands (with or without food) he does it properly and gets his treat. However, if I ask him on command without any guidance, he starts whining?
He whines, and I keep repeating ("roll over" 3 times) and he does eventually end up up rolling over but does it rather aggressively, or quickly. It's kind of not poised if you know what I mean, he just throws his body into a roll.

Sometimes he does do it properly on command, but it's very rare.

I initially thought that he could have been in pain, but ruled it out because he could do it when I had my hand to guide him.

I've put it down to laziness, if thats a trait dogs have

Any reasons?

I think it could be that he doesn't want to. Pity, it's a pretty cool trick. Maybe he'll grow to like it. Oh well.
