Well I thought I'd update anyone who is still interested for this noob's (read: me) this little gaming build project;

I've bitten the bullet and last week built this

Case: BitFenix Shinobi Window
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V-LK
CPU: Intel i5 3570K 3.4GHz
Heat Sink: CoolerMaster Hyper EVO 212
GPU: EVGA GTX 670 GDDR5 2GB
RAM: G.Skill Rijaws 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz
SSD: OCZ Octane 128GB
HDD: Segate Barracuda 1TB
Optical: LG Super Multi Blue
PSU: Corsair TX 750W
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

All of this for $1,377. Still looking for mice, keyboard and monitor. Though.

In the mean time, I'm scavenging an old, OLD Dell workstation mouse and keyboard and using a 26" HDTV as a monitor
