Well long story short. I've just built up another media box to store all my TV Shows/Movies on.
Specs: Intel Celeron G530 4Gb Ram 4x 2Tb 72K Hitachi Drives in 5 RAID on RocketRAID 2680. Running Windows Server 2008 R2 with Plex Server. My issue appears to be that the data isn't being read from the array quick enough. I can stream fine to my iPhone Plex app without issue. If I try to stream to my Mac Mini, PS3 or even just open the media files from shared drive they take up to a minute to load and then only run for a couple seconds then 'buffer' for 5-10 seconds and then plays another few seconds. I've had same OS and Plex server running on a larger C2D system for months without issue, the HDDs were not in a RAID, just single drives. Reason I changed machines is I wanted a physically smaller machine, the new one is an mITX based machine. I would of thought the above specs would of been fine for Server 2K8 and Plex....guessing maybe the RR2680 could be putting to much strain on CPU, but CPU load seems fine. I'm getting quiet pissed off with it now, all I wanna do is watch the new episode of Breaking Bad LoL.Can anyone see where I am messing up? Edit: Not sure if I chose the best section to post. Prob not.
