Just got a set - they are awesome. By far the best PC speakers I have heard for the price.

digital + coaxial input, red/white rca input (you get a cable to connect this to your sound card). speaker wire inputs. seriall-looking input for the wired controller. that's about it.

Default Best Speakers.

Hey all,

Ok thats it, my computer speakers have actually died. Im now looking for the best 2.1 (or 5.1) speakers i can find without having to get and amplifier etc.
Right now i dont care about price, im just looking at whats best. So i can watch movies, play games, and listen to music.

Regards
Teff

Very good 2.1 system i think.
I wrote a mini-review on them.

A5's have had nothing but glowing reviews basically everywhere - not sure about the Edifiers. I'd get the A5's..

Hmm this is hard. The speakers i get will be plugged into a Asus D2X or STX still havnt decided. But both the eds and the A5's look sexy.

High end studio monitors, if price is of no concern.

Default best 2.1 speakers for gaming ($200 and below)

was thinking of getting Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System for $199 at pccasegear for new comp build
anyone have any experience with them, if not can you recommend me a good set, i don't want to buy a 5.1 as i don't have anywhere to put the rear speakers

also something to note i wont be buying a sound card but using onboard sound on the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P Motherboard

Logitech Z-2300 kick ass, I recommend them. More power than the Z-cinema afaik as well.

First, are you worried about how they sound? Secondly, do you have a soundcard? If you answered yes to both those questions...
Audioengine A2 $269

Great speakers cause I have them :P There's some other posts in this the forum about them and their bigger brothers, the A5. Read some reviews and I'm sure you'll understand

And just to throw it in for argument sake, consider some headphones too if it's for gaming; and not 'surround sound' ones either. Something like the ATH-AD400 for $144 or DTX800 for $175. Will blow any equivalently priced speakers away in every thinkable way.

But if you're only interested in having sound/volume/bass, sure get the Z-2300, they'll do the job

would i need a soundcard if i got the Audioenine A2 or would the onboard sound give it enough justice?
