you would have to be a complete nong to pay ebay prices for a HP touchpad considering asus transformers have been selling for as little as $279 recently.

I ordered one of the basic ones, mainly because it's definitely getting official ICS (from what I've heard the manufacturer is going to be discontinuing the advanced model, and as it's going to be sold locally in a lot of places overseas, I'm expecting a bit of a dev community.)

Only issue I really see is the MIPS processor, and the lack of apps compiled specifically for it, though, for most open source things I'm more than happy to recompile myself, plus I'm mainly planning to use it for internet browsing anyway.

Downloaded the stock 3.2 ROM last night, and it's all deodexed So I've started porting the ICS theme from the dell streak to it (the only other 800x480 honeycomb tablet I could find), hopefully should be pretty easy to root too.

So, yeah, I've already got the starts of a custom rom underway

Will let you guys know more when it gets around to arriving (ordered it 2 days ago, paid the extra for express post and it still hasn't been shipped. not overly happy, and will be firing then an angry email tomorrow afternoon if it still hasn't by then)

I didn't pay any extra for shipping, but mine apparently shipped on the 10th, which would be within 24h of my placing the order. Will also advise if/when it turns up.

Which tracking page are you using? Track-trace has sod-all info on it.

I may have slightly derailed The Plan somewhat by getting my localish telstra shop to hold a galaxy nexus for me this afternoon..

edit: departure from outward office of exchange on the 13th too, whatever that means.

Mine's in Brisbane, just awaiting customs clearance now, so kind expecting for it to show up either tomorrow or tuesday.

I'll be sure to post a little review once it shows up

What is the preferred format for a review these days? video or text and lots of pictures?

That price on ebay or a specific store you know? Also include keyboard? Been contemplating getting one if I found them cheap.

Text and pictures is probably best, but video if it's easier for you.

Was looking forward to a review. When it's that cheap, it'll be interesting to see.
