It's not officially supported and I think you'd want an awful fast external drive to make it run anything close to acceptably well.

USB drive booting windows environments is the realm of WinPE and derivatives. They work quite well.

Has anyone successfully installed W7 to a usb stick? I'm only finding a lot of virtual box stuff and install W7 FROM a usb stick tutes but I want to see if I can boot W7 from a usb stick in my htpc.
