I paid $420 in March '09 for my blue faced one - good to see they're holding their value

You can get it for that price at brick-and-mortar store sales.

Dont buy on ebay, just about every PRC 200 is fake.

Can get the leather one down to $385 at Duty Free Store. That's with tax.

That Seamaster is beautiful PooJou. Mind my asking what it set you back?

I'm still holding out for a black-faced Portofino or Portuguese, but damn that Seamaster is nice. Simple and elegant, exactly what I'm looking for in my second watch.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Guys a watch question (thought it was easier to ask in this thread but can start a new thread if required)

My girlfriend got this watch for christmas

http://www.mimco.co.uk/Product/Watch...652/index.aspx

Obviously not the kind of timepiece people would brag about in this thread, but she loves the design...

Anyway yesterday she dropped it and the glass has a crack through it. I don't think the 'manufacturer' is going to be much help, so just wondering would that be an easy shape to get replaced? Would it be expensive? Anyone have any shop recommendations in Melbourne?

cheers.

Picked up the new STi after a 5 month wait, rocking the TT C

Off to Japan and the US for 6 weeks in 12 days time, planning on bringing back a AP Diver if I can find one.

The clock in your STI is a bit fast. What mods will you do to your STI first?

That's a cute looking piece (for a chick lol) any watch maker should be ableto cut something to size for that. Where are you located in Melb?

Yeah, I wanted a white faced portofino with silver other bits, but they don't make them anymore apparently :/

Seamaster set me back "about" a grand or thereabouts.

Again, my daily watches are a Casio Calculator, and a Timex80... so I'll break the Omega out if I have high-class client meetings (although i've found that people love the calc watch)

Haha yeah I have a feeling the pre-delivery guys figured it was 'close enough' when they set it.

No plans for mods so far, ill be gone for almost 2 months so it'll be a while until i've fully broken it in anyway. But I havent ruled out visiting Super Autobacs in Shinonome while in Tokyo and bring back a STi front lip.

The missus bought me one of these but I'm not a fan of the chronometer function and the fact that the second hand is in its own dial (the second hand on the main dial is for the chronometer for no sensible reason).

Now the issue is that it has been over a month since she bought it and if I return it I'm locked in to $700 of credit at Shiels. If I was buying something for myself I probably would have looked elsewhere but regardless it seems I'm a bit trapped with their range. Looking for something simple and classic with a nice build quality, masculine but not over the top, no chronometer, with date and possibly day function. Any suggestions?

Side note - does anyone know if they can order in products? They sell Citizen/Jag/Fossil/Pulsar/Seiko, so I'm hoping I can find something in one of their ranges even if there is nothing in the shops. Also perhaps once I have a credit note I can get one of their more expensive watches bartered down a bit, since RRP is hopelessly inflated.
