Just popping my head in to say best of luck sorting everything out Benny, so glad everyone was ok and hopefully you can get back to normal sooner rather than later.

On an unrelated note, I'll finally be back home in May so I might be able to pop a few laps in with the rest of you arse clowns then

Wow that sucks. Good to see you with a positive attitude though. Hopefully everything is back to normal soon. I'd be horrified if that happened to me. Wife would be devastated.

Hope your kids get some cool new stuff too

Important update!

PS3 powers up, I'm off to get a controller so I can copy my save games off it.
Now to find a decent deal on a new one.

* Went and found 558m ethernet cable
* Plugged PS3 into wired network

All I want to do is embarrass myself with my lack of driving ability

So today I bought a Cisco modem. If I get d/c next week there's a fair chance my G25 will be implanted into my TV and I will either be sleeping on the couch or need to stay at one of your houses

bubs try joining some of the public rooms to test if you get dropped from them in the meantime. also if it keeps happening then lookup in a google or something like that for a answer. can also post here to see if anyone knows of an answer as we wondered where you went.
if you actually "Went and found 558m ethernet cable" couldn't find one less then 90m long? lol

Another update.

Currently copying files to usb.
Bought a new 320gb Slim from DSE for $399 with extra DS3 and Motorstorm Apocalypse.
Still no internet here, currently living in a house owned by a Quest motel.
They have wifi but it's $120 for 3 months and only 30gb download.
Any ideas for a decent connection while we are stuck here?

I get d/c from public rooms too. It's not as imediate or definite, but it does happen.

I did a little google on Tueday night and one of the recomendations was buy a new router. My modem/router would be 6 - 8 years old and the voip functions have stopped working. I've been meaning to replace it for some time now, but never got around to it. The wireless range is pretty crap on it too (and I'm 90% sure it's not as good as it used to be). I have a friend in IT so he hooked me up with cost price on the cisco modem.

I think it's a 15m cable. I don't even remember why I have it.

No I haven't, I had to google what that meant. I have always used wifi on my PS3 and haven't had many problems. I don't generally play a lot of games, but I have been playing a lot of multiplayer mw3 lately and haven't had any problems there. As above, I did try hooking my PS3 up with cat5 on Tuesday, but I still got d/c exactly the same as I was on wifi.

If the cisco modem doesn't solve anything (I do suspect it will), I will try the DMZ thing prior to impregnating my TV with my G25

Not going to make it tonight guys, the other half and I are sick and not really in the right mind to show Stalker how to drive!
Next week for sure, and I think we need to set a start date!
