Give it a day and you won't go back to that tiny screen

Surprisingly quickly . My Galaxy S1 feels tiny now, and played with a friends Galaxy Nexus and it also felt a little on the small side. Don't think I'd want any larger though...

Got the OTA update notification, tried to go through with it but it failed... might be because its rooted. Also tried Kies, it downloaded OK and seemed to go through flashing but when the phone rebooted it said update failed, will need to look into it a bit later.

Edit: XXFL2 in About device so must have updated OK.

Just updating mine now, Im with Telstra.

Is it possible to delete some of the apps that come pre-installed? I've tried to uninstall them normally but that doesnt work. Flipboard is an example of the apps im talking about.

No but most of them can be disabled or at the very least hidden from your app drawer.

nah.

OTA update wont be available for everyone at the same time
even if someone on the same carrier has updated already

VODAFONE:

Roll-out details

The update will be released to devices according to the following schedule:
Day 1-3: 10% of devices are selected at random to be eligible for upgrade
Day 4-13: An additional 10% of devices are selected at random per day
Day 14: The update is now available to all users

The update is available free of charge, however you will require a computer and an internet connection to download and complete the upgrade.
The size of the update is 1609.7MB.

I just put CM9 on my phone, Was sick of things like the 'half' messagetones, the re-draw, the bloatware.

The hardware for this phone is awesome, and really snappy, but the OS...

So much happier now with CM9, this will tide me over until Jelly Bean in Late Q4... Fingers crossed anyways.

So aside from some more bloatware and fixed the redraw. Has anything else been updated in the new version?

once jellybean gets released (official or a 100% working port), then ill bother rooting and installing a vanilla rom on my phone. already regret getting a telstra handset instead of an international one like my partner, but it was too good a deal to pass up
