He is definitely not talented
the Nokia 800 is one of the most beautiful devices i have seen.
Samsung surely could have made it prettier.
Even if Samsung went with a uni body design all i really wanted was a SD card slot. I could keep typing on how it could have been improved but i don't want to give away any ideas to Samsung just yet... (not like they read OCAU cause if they did they would have known to make it prettier than the leaks)
to me the back of the phone looks ugly and cheap, the fronts fine in my opinion

I too am underwhelmed by the SG3.
It is making the nexus prices look a freakin bargain.

I have decided on balance my next upgrade will be...
An aftermarket battery for my Nexus

I was expecting at least one wow I'd love to have that feature.
No rabbit was pulled from that hat.
For interest sake, anyone got an Oz SRP for the SG3?

I cant take you seriously... your dp i swear i have seen it before
Edit: did you mean Recommended Retail Price? For Oz its probably gonna be 650~ same as the HTC One X on launch, it would be more for the 32 and 64 gb versions.

A lot of negativity in here for a phone NO ONE has handled or seen in real life, reviews are nothing till you get it in your own hand and try it out. I will wait till i try one before i pass judgement, if not i will wait. I have looked at the one X but don't like it so we will see what this thing is like.

lol are you inferring you have seen my avatar, somewhere else?

RRP or SRP recommended or suggested retail price, same same. We all know that means shit.
street price then around $600ish, grey price sameish
I would say price will correct downward to 500ish on release of iphone 5.

depends on usual supply/demand issues.
can't see the point in an upgrade (for me anyway), may look at note 2.0 or what else turns up.

Remember some of the rumours saying that the back cover will be made from ceramic? Make it from what you want, but please don't make it feel like a cheap piece of crap, like all Samsung phones so far! The Nokia Lumia is a good example of how plastic can be made to feel premium.

Does Android have an iPhone killer? Yes it does, but not in the same phone. We need the screen from the HTC One X, the design and quality feel of the Motorola RAZR, the battery life of the RAZR MAXX, the software from the Galaxy Nexus, and the internals of the Galaxy SIII. Yes you can have any of these, but not in the same phone. That's what Apple offers.

The lumia also weighs more and is thicker.

There is massive discussion online on the differences between the RGB and RGBG PenTile (e.g. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php...&id=1319022037).

I am also let down by the PenTile display. Would have loved a shift to 720p SAMOLED+ but who knows if they're experiencing issues with manufacturing. 720p PenTile also seems to bring it in line with current market offerings on the Galaxy Nexus and Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE, something I wouldn't have expected for an S3.
I had a galaxy S with pentile looks great. Now have the galaxy note 1280x 800 pentile ,looks better.
Maybe its just me but I dont like the look of the Super Amoled +(Non pentile) on the SGS 2,it has a green/blue hue to it & colours seem a bit washed out.
Other regular LCD screen with RGB look fine to me tho

JD power survey not too long ago showed that consumers rated battery life to be of higher importance than thickness and weight.

I personally dont care if a phone is a tad heavy, i wouldn't carry it in a suit pocket anyway, id also gladly take an extra 0.5cm on the thickness of my phone if it doubled the battery life as well.

I am not in favour of a Pentile display myself but i reckon from what i have seen with the Galaxy Nexus and Note it should be fine. Still this is an evolution not a revolution. I probably will end up buying one, if i don't like it, I will sell it if i do i will keep it. Also on a side note maybe we might see a change back to RGB sub-pixels when Samsung introduce their Laser Induced imaging process REAL STRIPE, looks like the Samsung Galaxy S IV is shapping up to be a good one, it has to be, main two things i want with the next one is the display back to RGB and a sexy smoking design that's not a rip off. of nokia or HTC or even Apple, like honestly even this windows phone look a like looks better
some features i am looking forward too (in order of most important to ME!):
1. WolfSon DAC
2. The Screen/Display
3. S Voice (ultimately useless but very entertaining)
4. 64 GB + my 32 GB SD card
5. 2100mAh battery out of the box
6. Notification LED
7. Smart Alert
8. The feel of the phone (apparently really good)
9. Better TouchWiz
10. Performance
EDIT: WTF DOES THIS PHONE NEED A BAROMETER FOR HONESTLY? To measure the pressure and thus determining the altitude that people drop this phone off cause its so ugly?

No it doesn't, that is why so many of us don't want an iPhone even if it was made of gold

Considering that Samsung apparently don't seem to think anybody in Australia wants one, we may never get to handle one in real life :P

I'd prefer this phone to the One X, but I have limited patience.....
