lol just looked up that cooler, can't see in those pictures that there is a fan inside the cooler. In which case mounting the fans ontop would be much better than on the side.

am I the only one who lucked out getting a missus who plays more Skyrim than I do (She's level 45) and can name each individual component in my pc? Cos all I seem to hear is people who have ladies who don't understand their passion...

Sup.
![]() Being mothers’ day, I thought an update appropriate. Still haven’t managed to procure a bonnet scoop, so I’ve started making plug and ring moulds and trying my hand at fabricating something. This has not gone particularly well thus far, and has cost me a number of fingerprints. Pictures to come of the rejects… The cover currently on there is mostly to discourage small fingers, as the thing still sits around waist height in the lounge room.

Gaming with her is a riot. We've been playing co-op Saints Row 3 and she thinks it's hilarious to make a character with the biggest boobs, or a naked Captain Planet running around. In Terraria she would activate the Cloud in a Bottle at the same time as the Whoopie Cushion, so it looked like farts were lifting her character off the ground. And "here, I made you a video of Lara Croft drowning, because it looks like she's dancing." Funny as. Much better than dating a girly-girl who wants to go clothes shopping and watch reality tv. ![]() Quote:

just a brief update, but this is what it looks like as of a few weeks ago...
Click to view full size! It is due to be rebuilt in a whole new scratch build acrylic case of an all new design, as I have finally convinced my wife to let me WC her rig!!! I have this res and xtigerx to thank for it! and as with the other build logs, there are loads of as yet unresized process pix that will go up in time...

Howdy All
So, 'twas such a nice today, I got up to more than a single thing... We all know where priorities should lie; we are regularly reminded. In this case, let us not be over-obvious about it, as my wife is likely to read this at some point, but yeah, priorities, priorities... My wife recently gave me the go ahead to WC her rig. This has previously been not only a flat-out and resounding "no," but even a refusal to call hers any WC thing I offer her. But women are such aesthetic creatures, and I knew it would only take the perfect something-or-other and we would be green to go. In this case it was the res. Apparently the delicate "box" look was more to her liking than a large phallic tube. Go figure - women, right? Click to view full size! So yeah, this is about al close to measuring as I get. The MB tray is not the one to be used, but is there to give me an idea of where everything will sit. My lovely missus has kindly offered that I am welcome to dump her rig into any ol' crappy shed case I an find in order to get the measurements I need from the hardware itself, but that doesn't really help me, as I need access to the hardware that would have to be in a closed in box of some sort. In the end decided I was better off leaving things as they were, as the one thing the current incarnation affords me is access for a tape measure... But yeah, if you are trying to imagine it at this point, most of that MB tray has to go. As I have already done the resizing rubbish, I might open photochop again later and return to "red lines" this so you can see the size of the MB and tray that will go on it. Might. As my son is prone to tell me, though, when I say something "might" happen, it almost always means "no." Kids are smart and they don't fuck with you. Click to view full size! This gives you a bit better idea anyway. At this point nothing is secured to anything else, Also note that that PSU being used is different, and intakes air from the back where the cables come out, so will be aided by the fans on the front of the rad. The HDD cages will not both be used for HDDs (we have a QNAP, nfi why she even wants mech drives anymore with 8TB of double redundant storage on hand, but mine is not to question why, mine is but to dream up wonderful uses for off-cut industrial materials for blowjobs and bragging rights) Also note that this time we are making use of these Construx corner pieces I scored off the forums since my last scratch acrylic build. I have found use for them elsewhere as well, handy little bastards (though would be infinitely better in M4 than M3)... Click to view full size! This is obviously the bottom "layer" of our wet pc cake. Again, still taking measurements etc. I love that freaking rad btw. I got it off the forums, have used it to test just about every piece of WC gear I have bought since, and have had it in like 4 builds of my own somewhere previously. RX360. This one has been immaculately looked after fin-wise, but had a small dent in the little reservoir area where the inlets are. Click to view full size! Better angle of how it is all intended to fit together. Still to remove the grills over the fans etc. Also gives you a reasonable idea of how the top layer stuff will sit. Click to view full size! This is how everything is affixed to the bottom. Rad is attached to drive cages, which are attached to the "floor" of the case. Click to view full size! Holds pretty well.... Click to view full size! Yeah, I ran out of bolts ages ago... I spent hours cutting 40mm and 25mm down to 12mm until my finders would not hold another. Hence the many nuts being used as spacers. Works, so fuck ya! Click to view full size! Note the fan grills have been removed from the drive cages, but one has been spun around (to allow as much room as possible) and now guards the fins against the onslaughts of the PSU cabling. Do your worst, cabling! Mhuahahaha! You are POWERLESS against my mightier fan grill thingy! Click to view full size! Said fans and grill... The little channel down the bottom has another piece that goes in, which affixes first to the PSU, then to the 2 drive cages to secure the PSU in. I didn't take this kind of care in securing the PSU in the old case (it was merely "pinched" between 3 sides), but it was not built with the intention of having a loop in it, and hence needing to be turned every which way in order to bleed said loop... Click to view full size! Ok, the drive cage thingy on the right in this picture is not intended to be used for drives, but for cable management. I have to hide shit somewhere, right? Anyway, just measuring up future holes for cables and tubing now. I do actually measure things, I just do so in a book. I know, books, right? How archaic and luddite can you get right? Click to view full size! Dunno bout you folk, but this is pure pron to me. I have a mild suspicion my wife is letting me WC her rig solely as a means to get me in the lounge room more often. Lets be honest; tele is shit at the best of times, I can watch everything I want from here in the study, and have 2 awesome WC rigs in here, as well as a host of other toys and network gadgets. Tele can get fucked most of the time. Click to view full size! The fans that will make up most of the front of the build (plan to incorporate some insane secrutiry mesh I have come across in my travels at some point...) are Noiseblocker PLs; nice and shiny, quiet as. Click to view full size! I bet you really want me to fuck up a pic eventually and give away the fact that I do all of this wearing nothing but a cockring and a smile. Check the reflections closely, you may just be rewarded, you may just be punished - you just never, never know... Click to view full size! Yes, many more holes are planned for this top piece, but I do need to get some fasteners first. And by this stage it is getting late. Click to view full size! All of the cables on the PSU being used (non-modular 600w silverstone) come out exactly where those do on the HX650, hence why I keep using it as a stand in. That and the fact that it lives on the test bench in the shelf under the MoRa... What this pic doesn't show effectively is the 3mm clearance above the PSU the "top" plate has. Its there; trust me. I will be a doctor one day, so trust me. Click to view full size! So this is where it is until I get some more fasteners. Creekin sent me on a wild goose chase the other day for some (gosh-bless'im), but I'm not looking forward to a trip to an unfamiliar place without a working GPS. Also notice the "shelf" I made from my desk drawers and yet more acrylic (does this shit have any limits?) and more GTA posters. In terms of heavily marketed games, I recon GTA has the best artwork. The most of them have been great games too, but I'm more of a fantasy-genre kind of guy, while at the same time recognizing how little anyone else wants to look at my DND shit, not to mention how overall childish it is. I hide that shit like a real man.
