This is not necessarily a good thing. Fast absorbing foods = high glycemic index.

Default Blenders - Any Advice?

Looking at getting a blender, well I actually want a juicer but they all either suck or are too expensive

Looking at the Kenwood BLX67, not because of the colours, but Kenwoods have a better reputation than say Sunbeam

Would love to get a Vitamix but the mrs doesn't want to spend that much

Any other recommendations??

If you want juicer then get a juicer.. They are a million times better than trying to juice with a blender..

My GF got this Breville one, and it's really awesome! It's retail is over $200 but she got it for $160 or so at Harvey Norman..

When you taste a fresh orange juice outta this thing.. it's mind blowing how good it tastes compared to a bottled juice. You wont be disappointed.

I hope nobody minds my hijacking of sorts.

But can somebody please recommend me a decent stick blender. I've got a Breville blender, but I need something that can mince prawns, make quick herb/oil blends etc. The blender needs liquid and it gets impossible sometimes.

Stick blender, with the cup/micro blender attachment. I've had problems in the past with an old one that didn't have enough room for liquids/soups to be sucked through the bottom opening.

I'm not sure what I'd get for 150 or less though?

I've got the Kenwood triblade. It comes with attachments to mash potatoes and a mini chopper thingy (haven't had to use it yet). It's pretty good.

Had some Myer vouchers so got a v.nice $80 Breville one! Very reliable and blends pretty much anything you throw at it in 10-15 seconds. It's got an ice crusher setting and a handy userguide which gives a rough idea what setting to use for what (though I just whack it on max all the time!). It's also really easy to clean as the whole jug simply lifts off and can be taken apart.

Found a link!

Edit: Just fully read OP. This might cut some meats but haven't tried (it sure does a good job with biscuits and veggies!)

Go use it and get back to me!

I'm leaning towards
http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/p...lender-hr1372/

Or
http://www.breville.com.au/beverages...rs/bsb510.html

Probably not much difference between them all.
