I'm about to join Aussie's Bandwagon.
My current W7 64 install is faster then my clean Windows XP install :| Then again my W7 has had alittle more tweaking so still plenty of chances to improve. Going to run a second run now. Mind you my tweaks still need to catch up another 30 seconds. I take back my WXP bashing, this run is looking FAST!!! Aussie there are a few very simple tweaks that'll probably get you good results. I just shaved 34 seconds off after playing around in system settings. Last edited by Chaffe; 12th March 2012 at 12:10 AM. |

Hay guys this has been posted up on the front page of OCAU HWBOT team thread, I thought I'd through it in here for those that may not have seen it. This should get most people a big boost... if your not already doing it
![]() also try a stock install of xp and just make these basic changes i think you will be suprised (forget tinyxp and others like it until you have an idea what your system should be getting)...... just my 2cents ![]() SuperPi 32m * The other main tweaks are, run winXP (I use SP3 although a lot like SP2 or Win server 2003) * Run in ....debug mode ....with a ......maxmem of 600-680 ....(msconfig) * In most cases with the new hardware select ........no page file * And select .....system cache ......under memory usage * Try runing only one or two cores....if two or more cores used, set priority to the second core(1) * Try running Superpi in real time * Then run waza (OCX Spi Tweaker) different OS's will react with different settings so you will need to experiment on your system and your good to go....... Happy Benching The above is a very very very very very basic outline there are a lot of other tweaks and methods, eg reg tweaks and batch files ...etc.. http://www.ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showthread.php?t=3469 All credit for OCX Spi Tweaker to Monteboy over at OCXtreme Overclocking Forum AND REMEMBER ALL SYSTEMS ARE DIFFERENT SO TRY ALTERNATE SETTINGS |

I think i done gone broke somethin... I got an IRQ error trying to get my Patriot 9600 Rams to validate over 630Mhz and they are not posting now, Well 1 stick is intermittantly and it seems that the other stick is not at all.
![]() Noob Q. Should i be clearing cmos everytime im swapping ram sticks out to test boot?? Like if i put 1st stick in to test then the other, should i clear cmos in between? Gawd Damn, Dropped 20sec from my first Spi32 run to my second and now it seems its all over. Will try again tonight.......
