Oh well, I went ahead and purchased one. Call me "cheap", but I just appreciate good value. Here's hoping for no dead pixels!

We can't know until someone confirms it in a review, but if the power draw is actually 63W, that should make it a much cooler and more efficient monitor than the U2711's 113W.

Super keen for this, but I'm going to wait until someone here has one or there's a review. I'll just need to cut some more space into my corner desk.

Saw this a while ago. Considering a triple 27" monitor setup for around the price of one U3011.

The catleap you can apparently get 100Hz out of it.

Only the Catleap with tempered glass (w/ or w/out speakers) and only specific models. The ones with 2B in the serial were manufactured in Feb and they may be overclockable up to ~100hz. Those marked 2C were manufactured in March and they used a controller board which wasn't as good, so are usually only overclockable up to 67hz.

From the polls, a little over 10% seem to have dead pixels on arrival. Some people have reported they've been able to fix them by massaging the pixels a little (I had an Acer 22" which had 1 bright pixel I fixed this way) while others have opened up the panels and reseated cables which has also done the trick .

Unfortunately because the Catleaps have a tempered glass panel over the screen, they'e a bit harder to fix up if you do get dud pixels. Also, manufacturing standards aren't that high and some people have reported hair and fingerprints on the inside of the glass .

Maybe a sign of monitors using 120Hz @ 2560x1440 sometime soonish?
Displayport 1.2 has the bandwidth, and HDMI 1.4 does now too. So why not use it?

Well I couldn't help myself, bought one

This is the model I bought from dcsamsungmall - only has the potential to overclock to 75hz max but the housing looks a lot better and it has a full tilt/swivel stand that I prefer. There are a bunch of different models but the panels are much of a muchness except for the 3VIEW screen which no one sells outside Korea yet. Only real differentiation is price and screen housing. There is a multiple input version of this screen (2x VGA, DVI-D, HDMI + component) but it isn't listed yet either.

dream-seller also has them listed for a few dollars less but uses EMS (saw someone say this is related to US post office?) whereas dcsamsungmall uses FedEx.

3VIEW screen was just listed for $360 USD inc post to Australia Seems to be the cheapest of the lot at the moment. Pity it looks so bland but meant to have a slightly better panel than the others with higher gamma, contrast and better response time.

Keen to see some reviews on these, a purchase is very very tempting.

This seems like the best value to me, or for those that want multiple inputs.
