![]() It's almost been a month since payment, I don't if I'm going to hold on much more - Greensum is stuffing everyone around on 120hz.net, as he is selling them alot higher on ebay now. Probably going to wait for the Overlord ones to come out in October, as I really want 120Hz.

I thought you guys bought those monitors from 120hz because they were already good for 120hz? Why are yours only doing 85hz then?

Yeah when I looked at the FAQ and found that people were paying an extra US$250 for a monitor which wasn't 120Hz native and wasn't guaranteed to do 120Hz even if overclocked, I couldn't help wondering why they were so keen.

I am currently running mine at 96hz without issue... seems good enough for me and since i may be going SLI soon you can't go over 100hz anyway. Only with a single GTX 680 etc can you go to 120hz. But these monitors don't really like running at 120hz I have heard (some won't even reach that, the ones that do either can overheat? Or just start artifacting).... But at 100hz they happy in most cases.

Also this is what I'm looking to get... http://i712.photobucket.com/albums/w...420_171733.jpg Really thinking of getting another 2 catleaps. Might need one of those 6gb 7970's to handle it though lol.

I got a 2B from 120hz.net and I'm extremely happy with it!
I was a little hesitant to order it when they put the price up but now looking at it and using it. I think it was a bargain even at $550. Mine does max out at 113hz, I can get to 115hz but then it starts getting lines and past that goes blank. This is with a 24AWG D-DVI cable. I'm not too worried though, I tend to only run it at 100hz anyway. Calibrated, this monitor is as good as it gets really. I do a fair bit of Photoshop as well as Gaming. You might think, oh you don't need 100hz to do Photoshop though but when you're panning large images around while zoomed in. It just glides so smoothly and mouse movements are instant and it feels more natural. I've used a 120hz 23" for awhile so I've really gotten used to the smoothness of that one. If I run the 27" at 60hz then it just feels laggy. This is why I've never really wanted to upgrade to a larger monitor in the past because I really can't stand 60hz for anything anymore. |

The guys organising the OC Catleaps, over at 120hz.net, are going to produce their own 120hz capable screen, should be available around Octoberish.

I just read that these aren't the Korean panels. Apparently these will consist of A panels shipped from OEMs in China, and assembled with some other components. I wonder if they had some success reverse-engineering the PCB on the earlier 120Hz monitors which enabled the overclock. Last edited by Fortigurn; 8th August 2012 at 1:49 PM. |

Picked up a Q270 this morning from gumtree for $300 (yeah yeah I know I can find slightly cheaper on ebay, but this one has a perfect panel & was't even used for one day). I can't believe I settled for a smaller TN monitor for the last few years - everything just looks so much better.
But I've discovered why people say the stand is shit
