highpoint RocketRAID 2720SGL Hitachi Deskstar 5K4000 4tb hard drives

I have a highpoint RocketRAID 2720SGL
Running on a H67a-ud3h-v3 Gigabyte 8G ram.
I am thinking of Using 4 new Hitachi Deskstar 5K4000 4tb hard drives (16G) in Raid 5
Using only 1 ports leaving room for expansion.
I was using 8x 2tb WD20ears/x. This was a nightmare to build and resulted in very poor performance. With multiple failures on build.
I run my OS on separate drive.

Would like some advice on compatibility of the Hitachi drives on this raid card, and any helpful advice.
