it's also a good idea to check your wattage of the power supply aswell, most airlines provide only a 75watt outlet on thier seats, (reading above post i think you had a 65watt power supply), so you should be safe!
as for outlets most use the international standard outlet (as shown in op's post), that take most types of plugs, including US, UK, Asia and Aust/NZ Last edited by shiney2512; 29th March 2012 at 8:46 PM. |

I can confirm you should be able to plug your laptop directly into the international powerpoint on the emirates flights - i did it a few weeks ago. There's also a USB power point in there as well which works for phones and the like.
That said, the emirates TV/audio system is pretty good - probably better than Qantas Intl / Cathay / Thai. Emirates I've always found as a good airline to fly, no fuss, clean, comfortable, decent food and good entertainment. I would recommend picking up an international power convertor - I've got one of the big black "Swiss travel product" ones that has input and output plugs for every type of plug. Picked it up on the Duty Free on the plane on Emirates (or maybe Qantas?) for about $25. You'd be able to get them cheaper elsewhere probably, and it's great because you don't need to think about it at all no matter where you go. |

The Chinese version of the AU plug is actually a recent addition to China. It's kind of compatible except the exact specifics aren't (the blade sizes differ, which causes problems in certain situations).
It's all mixed up like crazy because they've gone through a few different plug standards in the past couple of decades. |

i was on air lan, they had a power point and usb for every seat. The main concert is there is a wattage limit on the amount of power you can draw. if you do trip the breaker apparently now power until you land. Apparently it's only an issue with HUGE 17" gaming laptops

Emirates will provide you with special plug if you ask cabin crew incase your laptop does not plug direct into the seat.

My HP had a tendancy to trip it (was 110W, didn't realize the problem until onboard) but it still charged fine once powered down/standby or turning the screen down and not starting anything in 3D. If it went over the light went from green to orange and cut power, but simply replugging back in and it worked again. 65W should be fine. Formski |
