A75 Chipset RAID1 + Spindown Win7

Hi All,

I think its quite neat that harddrives spin down when they are not used for a while. eg. I have an SSD for OS and other harddrives for data etc.

But, If I have an SSD for OS, and 2x RAID1 Harddrives for 'data' only, would these spin down in RAID1? eg. is RAID1 spind-down supported with the A75 Chipset?

as far as I know (and I'm probibly wrong) the actual 'spin-down' is controlled by the drive itself and not the raid controller/motherboard, so I would assume that the hard drives would spin-down whether used as a single disk, in raid or plugged into a potato.

Thats what I thought at the start, but then I remembered that you can set the 'turn harddrives off' in power management in the windows control panel.....Which means that Windows sends a command to the harddrive to 'spin down' ...
