Default My Dog has Conjunctivitis

Quick question:

My dog has Conjunctivitis in one of his eyes, do you have to see a vet? or can you get some sort of treatment from the local pet store?.

Cheers

You need to take him to the vet. It may not be "just" conjunctivitis, you need a vet to diagnose it properly. Eyes aren't something to "wait and see" if it gets better on its own, take him to the doctor. (For example, he could have a grass seed in behind his eyelid and you can't check this out yourself without potentially causing more damage.)

+1 this. Eyes are too important not to be 100% on diagnosis.

Yep, straight to the vet. It might not be conjunctivitis. I thought that's what my cat had, turns our she had some crazy shit called uveitis and if you delay for too long it can really damage their eyes. Never mess around with eyes.

It was Conjunctivitis.

Got some cream for his eye, i did ask the vet about using teabags (obviously used and cold) my neighbor told me this trick. She said thats ok but if it does not clear up in a day or two then see the vet.
