Hehe, yeah. My chip went straight to 4.3 with just a multiplier change. Was feeling pretty positive by this stage, then a small voltage tweak for 4.5, but had to spend a long time stress testing to get 4.6ghz stable.

If i was ordering parts again I would have just got a basic cheap HSF like a 212 EVO and stuck with 4.3ghz with multiplier change only.

Will probably just wind it back to 4.5 and low voltage come summer

Still 3.4/3.8 > 4.6 is nothing to sniff at. Very happy.

got it stable at 4.9 1.32v
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...aug110515.jpg/

I'm really happy with this chip, temps getting up there 87c in prime but in most things it only gets to 75c max.still have speedstep and c states on.I'm waiting on a new bios chip for my z68 fatality(bad flash)so hopefully when that gets here I'll try for 5ghz maybe easier than the extreme 3
gunna run this at the specs in my sig,not worth the extra volts for 200mhz

it took 1.4v to get it stable @5ghz and temps went ballistic after 3 min of prime temps hit 100c so not tryin that again, but atleast it does do 5ghz

5ghz air chips are nice. (Yes I know, only 2 cores, and 32m isn't a complete stress test, but that's the most I do on air).

3570K
First run 4.5ghz@1.304v ~61 deg on air
Prime stable for a few hours so far, so I will try to see how much more I can get with reasonable temps

Can't believe some of you are getting 5ghz under 1.3v... nice chips

Yeah, it's no golden chip thats for sure but temps aren't bad for the volts. Will probably try another chip but I never seem to have much luck

3570k de-lid IHS with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra on the die and on the IHS.
Overclock to 4.7Ghz @ 1.35v stable.
Hottest core = Before temp 85 degrees, after temp 72 degrees. Air cooled with Nortua DH-14.
Drop of 13*C degrees. Took 30 mins to complete the surgery and re-assemble back together to bench it.

Stability test with Prime95 27.7 64bits custom blend max memory.
Cinebench for quick test = if voltage is not enough it would stuff up immediately.

Not bad gazza but I would have hoped for more from any sub-zero on Ivy, are you going to go colder too?

Looks like you got a pretty average bin there Gazza, as is the case with most Malay batches. Some of the better Costa chips on the bot are pulling 5.6-5.7 3D benchable.

5450 isn't all bad though, should give you a nice go in some benches.

Yeh much colder could of validated or run some some supPi at about 5650mhz but when you start doing long 3d runs and you hit the cpu test's eg 3d06 or vantage an SS just can't cut it. Seems about inline with what people on the bot are achieving with A SS 52-5400mhz 3d and higher in some of the 2d benchies. Still waiting to get my cascade back but from early testing with cold and volt scaling i'd say somewhere around the 6000mhz should be possible. Ln2 will have to wait a little longer.

Yeh looks promising to me searching 3d SS results on the bot i seem to be at lower vcore than most results. 5450 was the lowest i had to go and that was for 3d06 and vantage because the cpu tests punch out so much heat. Ln i'll use when i can but at 6.60 p/l its hard to justify
