I have 2 3770k, both clocked around 4.8g with 1.25v on Asrock z77 extreme4, when prime with any voltage above 1.3v, the temps just ~ 95c with Noctua NH-D14

Is this safe? I haven't gotten mine yet but I'm when I get it I'll be running it with my Noctua NH-D14 as well...

looks like 5ghz with 3770k on air is gonna be harder than 2700K.
Gigabyte motherboard (Z77X-D3H), in bios is shows 3.8Mhz (due to "turbo" mode), but its really set at 3.4Mhz

Unfortunately haven't been able to do anything thanks to my brand new faulty video card, sigh, fml sometimes...

Sad panda here. Can't get Prime stable at 4.7ghz 1.325v. 80degrees temps but conks out after 20 seconds. 4.5 @ ~1.25 however is max of around 60, so I think i'll work on lowering the voltage and settle for 4.4ghz 24/7 clock.

Nice, looks like u got decent overclockers. whats the load temp @ 4.8/1.25v like on D14?

oh ok, i had same mobo but my stock voltage on 3570K was ~1.07v but couldn't oc any higher than 4.2ghz. anyway guess H77 chipset = 200mhz slower cpu, memory speed.

Woah, those temps are burning for a 3570k at stock. Overclocked to 4.4Ghz mine never goes over 60C and the fan isn't even running full speed. Perhaps you should reinstall the cooler?

Try drop your PLL to 1.55 and IGPU clockspeed to decrease temps.

I am getting the same batch hoping to hit 5.2-5.3 with HT off under deep water.

Or bump up the 1st and 4th core.

not safe, I actually didn't think will be that high, and left it at office prime95 for a weekend around 90-95c... and when I came back realised the temp was ridiculously high.

and machine wasn't died at all. only thing going wrong was the clock on the machine has stopped (ASROCK z77 extreme4), which I never experienced b4. the clock just won't change, stucked at friday's date. no matter how you sync the time, the clock just seemed dead, only after I re-flashed bios and reset CMOS, motherboard clock starts to move again.

It throttles at 105 though, and no program is gonna send it to the same temps as a stress test, you will probably see 20c less with normal usage.

umm hsf is installed probably, i think temp im getting is normal for stock hsf, ITX. anyway i wouldnt want to reinstall the hsf on TU200 cos thats gonna be real pain..

I only got 60C load temp when i had 3570K @ 4.2ghz(stock voltage) with Noctua C12P SE14 after 7+hrs of prime95(~25C amibnet temp)

Whats your voltage at 4.4, and type of hsf, ambient temp?

wow 85C load even with the D14? cos thats gonna go up over 95C when ambient temp becomes 33C.
