Default How To Build a Hardware Testing Case - easy installation

hi all,
as you can see on my post number, i am a newbie around here
i do a bit of parts trading and pc building. we all know how annoying it is to install a motherboard for quick testing with all the screws and tight space all that...
one beer loving day i came up with this idea and turned a cheap case into my testing case..
required are
1: rotary tool or any other tool you can cut the case cleanly,
2: good old duct tape
3:cable ties
4: beer

since the operation is quite simple i wont go into the how to, just the picture will show how its done.
its very practical, space saving, easy to put on and off any hardware.

wanted to share.. hoping it could ease the life for some
Cheers

Not bad. Makes more sense just to use the motherboard tray though.

Use jsut the mobo tray you lose the PSU mount....

Nice job bro thats pretty awesome

Edit: Would be a good idea to mod it to have the back cable tray in there still (with the side panel effectively the base) to allow the PSU cables to be routed underneath to the relevant places and can jsut poke out of the holes right next to the gear its plugged in to

Real enthusiasts just slap the motherboard on the cardboard box it came in and leave the bottom edge of the cards hanging over the back

thanks guys

the reason i leave the back and sides, is not only safety (as things can fall here and there and you can see how messy i work) secondly, i need the back to mount graphics cards and other stuff to test as well.

other than that, its a good idea to have the mobo actually mount into the chassis for electrical safety and ESD reasons

thank you !
its not a bad idea though, that would make it harder to move the case, when i dont work i just chuck it under the table.
also sometimes i need to test other PSUs as well

i like it. If i was going to use it often i'd respray it to cover up the rust.

What did you use to protect yourself from the sharp edges?

gaffa tape
