Default 3770K@4.7 1,21v Gigabyte UD5H WB H-100 7970

Hi all some simple Corsair H-100 runs, I'm in Florida today ambient was 82F when I did runs, so a bit hotter than I like running at 72F. The UD5H WB as like the UD3H ran flawless OC easy and at nice Vcore, still under heavy load I have a hot hot core or this would be a very nice chipper.

Specs
Gigabyte Z77X UD5H WB
3770K@4.7 1.21v draw
Corsair H-100
Team Extreme 2400 LV
7970 stock
open bench

Anyway here are the 4.7 runs at crazy LOW VCORE!!!!!!!

And a LINX run

Be back with bios settings

NICE! I'm glad you did those linx runs at the end! Respectable volts & temps but you'd expect that with a H100. I'm guessing 4.5ghz on a high end air cooler for a 24/7.
Loving those numbers.

For a indirect comparison my 2600k@1.3v hits the same temps in IBT /w AVX on only 4.5ghz + HT .

Does the 3770k support AVX /w win 7 service pack one?? Would that produce hotter temps using IBT 2.53?
I would imagine so, more gflops?;

I just picked up i5 3570K and GB Z77X-D3H mobo from pccg, but on the cpu box it says 95W(!?!) not 77W? do u think its just a typo on the intel sticker?

The reason for this according to Intel is that they've chosen to keep the product segments maximum TDP value [Read: The LGA1155 platform]. This despite that the processor curcuits in the packages will work with a maximum TDP value at 77W and many times, even lower.

Not sure but I ran my 2500K and here was the LINX run on AIR

It all depends on the chipper but theIB dose get very hot at 5.3 that I can tell you.

I can run 4.2ghz stable at stock voltage(1.068v) but can't start at 4.5-4.7ghz, get "Boot failure detected" error and have to go back into the bios or load optimized defaults. Tried 1.200-1.250v vcore, 1.200v vtt, disabled last 3 options in advanced cpu settings, etc. but not sure what other settings need to be changed.. i have i5 3570K, Gigabyte Z77X-D3H and my bios option is different compared to your UD5H bios.

Thinking of getting a 2500K tomorrow...

I went from i7 2600K to i5 3570K. If you are buying a new cpu def get 3570K instead of 2500K.

Did you update your bios?

Also you should have the same bios I ran both boards and bios were same?

use the 3D bios to set the following

Make sure you set your memory and the VOLTS for it.

CPU Load line MED.

CPU VTT load line MED.

Dram Load Line MED.

I set my VTT to 1.20

Your chip may need differtent settings I think I know someone with one I will ck and get back to you PM

doh no, i have F5 bios..
Having bit of trouble flashing F7 bios, when i select Qflash option during boot, it won't detect the USB thumbdrive or USB 2.5" HDD, only one device shows up as "unknown device"(60GB SSD?) and i was able to backup the original bios there but i can't find it once i log into win7.

Tried using the windows application to flash it? The USB is formatted to FAT32?

I found this on Hardforum
Quote:
Qflash can be extremely picky on what usb drives you use. I've found that it tends to pick up smaller drives than larger ones. I've tried formatting my 8GB flash drive as Fat32 and it simply wouldn't work. Had legacy USB on and whatnot but it still wouldn't show up.
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1495097

Bit old but id assume it would still apply.

But i still can't boot at 4.7ghz, get same error..

Tried identical setting with F7 bios but still get the same annoying "Boot failure detected" error at 4.7ghz. 4.5ghz hanged everytime and couldnt even get into the bios, had to clear cmos manually.
