Default Week's Stay in London - 3G Data SIM / App Recommendations

As title states, I will soon be staying in London for a week, and I'm looking for a pre-paid(?) 3G SIM card with data plan to use with my iPhone so it can help me get around/sightsee. A SIM/plan that allows tethering would also be welcome.
Any recommendations?

Any iPad/iPhone app (for example like a London version of TripView) recommendations also welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I've all of the carriers in the UK have decent reception in London. I used 3 pay as you go (prepaid), which was known to be fairly rubbish, and had absolutely no dramas and would regularly hold Skype calls back to Australia while moving in a car/bus/walking.

If you plan to get out of London, then its a different issue and someone like O2 is probably a better carrier reception wise.

Wikitravel isn't an app but has decent info on London. If you let me know what sort of things you're into and want to do, I can probably recommend some things to do as well.

Oh the only app(s) I would recommend are a good tube map app, and the tfl app (Transport for London)

OP do you mind if this thread is moved to the Holiday & Travel forum? It is a publically viewable forum.
