some quick testing this morning with another memory kit (have given dingo my tridents so he can have a run) at lower speeds, similar timings, but much better TRFC, is starting to confirm my suspicion about that subtiming having a bigger effect on superpi than the others.
will keep testing and possibly try out another gskill kit i have here in the hope of breaking into the 1m38s mark like everyone else lol.
edit: nope, this kit is rubbish too, wont even do 2000 cas11 lol

for those struggling with timings on IB, id say concentrate on that subtiming first, then tighten up the others secondarily.

the other memory i was just using (ocz platinum) was able to do 2400 at around 70 TRFC. my dominators with elpida ICs go lower.
comparison, same speed, the tridents wouldnt boot at all with it set lower than 190, or 210 when set to 2600mhz.
so it comes down to whatever the memory can do, theres no real goal to go for, apart from just "get it as low as it will go for you".
i beat my last submit with the OCZ memory at 2360mhz cas 9-11-9-24 1T, TRFC 70. everything else same.

what im getting at is, once you've set the main timings, work on lowering TRFC as much as you can, before touching the other subtimings. on IB at least..

I'll see what I can rustle up on sunday.

So far I've been almost flat out with uni and haven't really had a chance to really play with any of my G.Skill rams that I intend to use for the comp.

guys remember that X58 round is X58 and everything earlier, P55 was slightly after X58 but P55 is also ok, so X48/P45/P55 can all get in on that,

some interesting combinations there that might be better in some benchmarks than others

This's a good tip guys if you're trying to lower that little bit further. I shaved off about 300 milliseconds lowering mine.
