Default Any way a lecky/uni student can write a camera off on tax

Well I'm keen to get a decent camera 550d with a few lenses don't know what for my lumix hasn't taken 50 pics in its life. It just get used as a poor mans go pro.

But I like toys so why not.

I've also pay alot of tax this like over 100k in tax. I'm currently working shift work and do have alot of time off.

But can I claim it on tax at all my uni is pretty much finished though.

Im at the stage were I'm in the highest tax bracket so will get most of any thing I claim back.

New lappy, welder (transmig 200i), massive tool box with tools, 3 space cases for the ute, and pretty much the full set of makita cordless tools. All used in some aspect for work.

If you're paying that much in tax I hope to heck you have an accountant, and that you'd ask this question of him/her. If you haven't got one you're likely giving the government money you could otherwise be keeping.

Ours has saved us thousands through knowing things about claiming that we don't, which is exactly why we pay him.

see an accountant. OCAU is not the place to get financial, legal advice or medical advice.

you earn $300,000 a year doing shift work?

i'm sure you can write the camera off on your tax as you need to use it to do inspections. you should probably phone an accountant, in fact if you are paying anywhere near that much tax you should probably just HIRE an accountant, they will save you loads more money than writing off an entry level SLR will.

If you are in the highest tax bracket. I'm sure a cheap 550d isn't out of your reach without tax deductions. Seriously

You want financial advice, not advice about a camera.

Wrong place.
