I thought Diablo 3 doesn't even support sli/crossfire so does that effect the gtx690 or is onboard not a problem with games that don't support sli?

Hmm now it seems a driver update has it supported.......*confused*

since release date d3 has supported xfire for me... had both my gpu's in use at around the 30-40% mark.

It's not a very demanding game tbh...

One 690 will be able to acheive your 120fps at 1080dpi with out breaking a sweat it should keep you future proofed for a while too. So long as the rest of your rig is reasonably modern.

bf3 on 120hz on 1 x 680 wont hold 120fps for shit on 1080p

diablo seems to use 30% of my trifire on each card = equiv to 1 card. And its locked at 60FPS, might see if a 120fps fix (not that I will even notice it for the kind of game it is)

personally i'd pick up 2 second hand 680's for around 1k mark and be on your way
unless you really need a single card or paying top dollar for high end isnt an issue.
a single 690 is more silent that 2 x 680's if sound is an issue,
speed wise from my testing it seems in gaming there's barely any noticeable difference, in benchmarking on 3dmark11 about 500 point diff
but when it comes to price there is up to a $600 difference, depending on location of purchase
now thats a big difference :P

Hopefully I'm getting one from OCUK for $980 because I got credit as refund since my motherboard is damaged.

I am thinking the EVGA GTX 690 from the USA for $999.

I do game on 3 x 24" (and moving to 3 x 27")

For 1000 it is better value than the 1500 they charge for the card in Oz.

If you got the cash go for it......that's quite a bit of money for a video card.

Wouldn't warranty be a bitch to claim?

You do know that you'd get HEAPS of tax just trying to import any item that costs more than 1000 dollars?

Yeah not worth it in my eyes to ship from overseas and have something go wrong.

After taxes youll still save a bit but not enough to warrant not being at ease if you have to rma the card when it is DOA.

You can lock the framerate at whatever you want.

Escape -> Options

I think the appropriate response if you walked into a mens room and saw 20 women in there all protesting your use of your own toilet area, is to just unzip, flop out, and pelvis thrust into a helicopter motion until you nunchuck your way to the urinal.
