If the player dies the body will stay for a set amount of time or until the server is reset. However, despite the fact that most guns should one hit kill even with a body shot, half the time the player is only knocked out but will die soon enough. If the player disconnects before actually dieing then the body will disappear and wont come back till the player logs back in. You are not meant to be able to disconnect while knocked out but alt-F4 forces a disconnect through time out. In my opinion if you disconnect for any reason while bleeding or knocked out you should die immediately even if you should have survived.

I wouldn't say its extremely loud and I've used it pretty extensively, seems about on par with the other handguns to me.

It rarely attracts that many zeds.

Today has been eventful to say the least.

Logged in at NE airstrip, saw a dead body and some guys talking through direct chat nearby. Was hoping they would go down to the airstrip but next thing I hear is "Broke my legs..." from one guy over direct chat then a gun shot and the guy died.

Later on, still camping the NE airstip a guy comes along, being all catuious but makes a single mistake. He goes to loot the dead guy from before, so he gets a free bullet to the head. Couple hours later another guy tries to loot the hangars under the cover of darkness, but nope he got a free bullet to the chest.

Way later now, log back on and I'm on the beach. What the hell, did I lose my AS-50?! Lachie has just died after killing two people in Stary so I sprint up the road; I know its dangerous but got to get gear back. I pass the Dam outside Elektro and hear a rumble behind me, I look back and see a truck bearing down on me about 10 meters away. With my ninja reflexes I dodge to the side but the truck swerves and BAM I go flying 20 meters and splat, dead. <insert explicit language here>.

Then, expecting to have a long run again, I respawn as my old character with an AS-50 at the NE airstrip. First good news all day really. I start heading south to go around to back up people at Stary but then spot two players on bikes at the hangars, I sprint back uptp my sniper post and scan the area. OH ITS CHRISTMAS!! Four players, having a tea party in the middle of the field. BAM. I overshoot one, damit, panicking that they will disco I fire quickly again and hit one, stone cold dead. BAM BAM. Two trying to roll away die just as fast. Fourth guy legged it after the second shot, then just to spoil my fun the server resets. Sigh.

All in all, a pretty eventful day.

Playing this game makes me realize two things. The Arma 2 engine is horrible, cumbersome and unintuitive. Second, its so refreshing to play a truly challenging game, I don't think I've been this stressed out during a game in ages.

Sniped by a M107. Moved from one helicoper crash site to check another, got some gear then went back to check the first site on our way to Stary. Ben and Sam saw a pig and decided it must die, so they ran down without checking the surrounding. Soon enough BAM Im dead, Ben and Sam panic and leg it. Benny survived and is too chicken to go back for revenge or as he says it "I only like fighting on my terms". Sadly Sam also died

Fuck.. I had 5 bullets and came across someone after 5 hours.. and he turned on me.. i freaked and shot him.. then had no bullets left. His mate came from the side and while I was trying to get the sniper rifle off the dude and screaming FRIENDLY I was killed. Sigh. Felt so guilty for killing the dude.

Had an interesting day today, mostly spent up at NW Airfield helping friends snipe people. Mates got caught in electro with the car and ended up getting 15 kills and about as many deaths running back to their bodies everytime.

After walking for an hour from NW to Electro i find 3 dudes running into the woods towards me. Panic and start dropping them with my M4 SD. 2 dead, 3rd one DC'd. Waited 5 minutes and figured it safe to check the body. 3rd dude comes in behind me and starts hitting me with a Makarov, so i DC on him.

I never DC in fights. But i figured i'd give him a taste of his own medicine. Using that tactic is such bullshit, i hope he raged when he didn't get all my gear.

Yeah, my first player kill was with a Lee Enfield, also from several hundreds of metres away. I was excited to loot the body and find an Alice backpack and a M4A3 CCO (this was before I knew of all the other exotic weapons).
