Cool A little car with a sting in its tail...

My friends and I are back again with a teaser for our next Best Driving Roads episode, featuring a spicy little Italian car with a sting in its tail...

Stay tuned for the full episode!

Constructive feedback welcome!

start was to long for a trailer.i kept thinking..hurry up already.

i understand you're making the build up etc but yer.

im coming from the perspective of watching topgear.

internet these days = we want cool stuff now and fast and quick.

an engine start up noise lil grunt would be nice. exhaust..wheel moving/rolling. shows we are gonna go somewhere. getting upto something.

Nice editing, but as has been said WAY too slow a build up, and massively long cuts and transitions. Plus the techno really doesnt fit well.

Also in this day and age of cheap HD cameras then footage like this will dramatically help your cause:

@Kwax - Thanks for the feedback! I had a feeling the intro might be a touch long. The fact that you're comparing us to top gear is flattering though, we're pretty new to the video game (less than 6 months!) and we think we're improving, so feedback is always helpful! Thanks for the suggestions also

@Azrael - This is a teaser trailer remember... there'll be plenty of driving action and bumper mounted cameras in the full episode Check out a couple of our earlier episodes - our best so far is the previous one, episode 3, here. Thank you for the comment though!

Yeah, i know what it is. And i did see Episode3, and TBH i really wasnt impressed at all with that work. I didnt think you captured Deviation Rd at all, and ive driven it innumerable times.

@kwax - Thanks! Glad you enjoyed
@Azrael - For our teaser videos we like to try some different stuff instead of using the same driving footage that'll feature in our full episodes. Do you have any suggestions on how we can make our future videos better? We're always keen to learn where there's room for improvement!
@Chainbolt - Thanks! Seems to be the general consensus, will take it on board for next time

Thanks!

Heading out on Saturday to film this one - we're hoping to get the bulk of the filming done on the one day!

The two other guys making the video with me then both have overseas trips scheduled, the first from the 19th of June and the second from the start of July I believe. We're still thinking August to meet up with you if you're available then

Not with the CMOS jelly on a cheap HD camera it won't.

The song is called "In Your Arms" by Andy Moor featuring Jessica Sweetman. A friend of mine chose it!

We use a GoPro Hero 2 HD for our car-mounted video needs, which tends to be pretty decent with motion - certainly much better than some cameras we've used in the past.

It's not that it's too long, it lacks a narrative.
Bucolic shots of the countryside, good.
Shot of empty road, good, something is about to happen.
Back to shots of countryside, bad. No progression in the story. Once I saw the road I expected to go somewhere and you blew it. Should have had car fly past, then maybe reaction shot of sheep looking around for the noise. Then build the pace and narrative from there.

Also some of the camera moves are indeterminate and wobble around, very distracting. Shutter speed seems too high as well leading to motion judder. Keep shutter speed at 1/50th, don't go beyond around f11 either or you hit the diffraction limit of the sensor. All that means you'll very likely need ND filters. If you've got the money invest in a good slider, great for reveals and pushes that are kind of obligatory these days.
