Default Windows 7 Installation Issue

Hi,

Today I turned on my PC after a few months of inactivity to find no application would open and after 10 minutes it would blue screen and crash. So I put in my Windows 7 disc and formatted my hard drives (1 60gb ssd and 1 1tb) I then attempted to re-install Windows but at the 20% mark of exanding files it lagged and then came up with error code 0x80070002 saying files were missing. I then tried to install it again and the same problem. Hoping for some reason that third time would be the charm I booted from disk only to find it no longer found either hard drive. Help me please!

if your getting that error code during installation, you may have a corrupted installation disc, or during installation setup cant find some of the required files on the disc to continue the normal installation.

go download the Iso of your operating system here, burn it to a dvd and try it, but make sure you get the one that matches your serial key.

these are the official installation Iso's with service pack 1 included.

im not saying your disc is at fault, because that error code is typically seen more when the pc user boots up to the desktop and might appear during windows updates.

i'd be looking at faulty ram first of all.
then faulty hard drive after that.

should note that in my haste to post my reply, i forgot about the blue screen you got after booting the laptop on the first time after a few months, and my post was directed towards the error code you got during re-installation, so its anyones guess if both issues are related, as the error code you mentioned is not typical of a bad hdd or bad ram, more to do with lost or corrupt files from windows or from windows updates.

so checking the ram and hdd may help resolve it.

file corruption quite often comes from faulty ram or hdd.

and 9 time out of 10 installation errors about missing files are also caused by faulty ram.
