Penang Hotel

Anyone got any recomendations of nice hotels in Penang?
Going for work and have no idea of a nice place to stay...

depend on where you want to stay. I've listed out so you got an idea which area suits you.

Batu Feringgi area (Hard Rock,etc....)
- night market
- coffee shops/restaurants
- located beside the beach

Gurney Drive area (G-Hotel)
- shopping malls next to it
- coffee shops/restaurants
- seaview

Town area (City Bayview, E&O, Traders, etc)
- more happening
- night clubs
- coffee shops/restaurants
- shopping malls (Prangin Mall, Komtar, etc)

Bukit Jambul area (Equatorial, Vistana)
- golf course
- near airport/industrial area
- shopping mall
- coffee shops/restaurants

Had an enjoyable stay at the Golden Sands Resort at Batu Ferringhi Beach.

I stayed at Muntri Mews. Not five star, but it was excellent. The beds are awesome, the food at their cafe is very good for hotel food, and they make some nice cocktails...

Clove Hall is their more upmarket offering.

depends on how long you mind spending in a taxi in the morning and where you're working. Been to Penang half a dozen times, and the Park Royal at Batu Ferringhi is awesome!
